Welcome to the First Annual Power Tool Drag Races in Columbus, Ohio. This is a joint venture between the Columbus Idea Foundry and The Fuse Factory communities but is open to anyone and everyone. The main goal is to demystify mechanical workings, get peoples hands dirty and have some fun. When you bring together Art and Engineering things often get pretty interesting.
Columbus Idea Foundry – a community workshop, learning center, and occasional art gallery. Monthly memberships are available to the general public for use of our tools (woodworking, metalworking, welding, plasma cutting, and CNC), as well as computer lab (internet, electronics, embedded control, digital arts software, sketching, photography and more). If you have a project, come build it here!
The Fuse Factory (Columbus) - an art and technology initiative focused on cultivating artistic production, research, and experimentation with digital media and electronic tools. Our purpose is to function as an incubator for innovation, interaction, collaboration, critical thought, diversity, and artistic exploration.

REGISTER: The Workshop ($30) - will give you an opportunity to learn how and actually build your own simple version of a Power Tool Drag Racer. The entrance fee for the race is included with the workshop. You must register by Friday June 19th, space is limited.
The Racers ($15) – build a Drag Racer on your own and show up just for the race portion. You must register by Friday June 19th.
The Fans ($5 cash or 2+ Cans of Food) – Come enjoy all the action without the work of building anything. Pay at the door.

PRIZES: Ohio Power Tool – one of the event sponsors has donated several prize packages, with total value of several hundred dollars, which will include tools from popular brands such as Bosch, Milwaukee and Makita among other. More info on specific prize information will be available shortly.
